- About Boules
Invented in Provence in 1901, Pentanque means ‘feet together on the ground’ and this, together with a toss of the ball rather than a roll, is what makes Petanque different from Boules. Played with hollow metal boules, the object of the game is to get as many of your boules closer to a small wooden jack (or cochonnet which literally means piglet) than your opponent.
