Hope Park is hiring out ‘Yan’, and ‘Tyan’ to visitors wanting to explore the nooks and crannies of the Lake District without the need for petrol power.
With no engines, exhausts or fuel systems, these funky electric Twizys can be driven at the push of a button and are all about encouraging us to get around in a fun, eco-friendly way on our holidays.
Freedom from noisy engines gives passengers the chance to get closer to nature by enjoying the sounds of birdsong or simply savouring the sound of silence.
There are ten Twizys in The Lake District, and to make each distinctly Cumbrian and put a smile on people’s faces, each vehicle has been decorated as a sheep, with its own distinctive personality. They have also been named in traditional Westmorland and Cumberland dialect, spanning the numbers one (Yan) to ten (Dec). Hope Park has number one ‘Yan’ and number two ‘Tyan’.
A Twizy takes two people, one in the front and one behind. Having two Twizys, we can cater for four people but we can arrange for more Twizys to be hired if your party is more than four.
Contact Hope Park to book Twizy – either Yan or Tyan – it’s £30 for half a day and £45 for a whole day’s fun.
